In the first nine years of his pontificate, Pope Francis made 37 trips visiting 53 countries, focusing on issues most important to him – poverty, migration, the environment, solidarity and
war. Rosi follows the pope on several trips, seeing him at his most uninhibited. Assembled from archival material, personally shot footage and segments from two of his own films, Rosi creates an impressionistic portrait of a global figurehead and human being who is subject to his challenging job, aging body and the demands of his popularity.
